“The Joseph Tito you might not see on social media is someone who enjoys quieter moments, cherishes simple joys, and finds happiness in silence. Beyond the public eye, I'm a devoted father who loves spending quality time with my twin daughters, Stella and Mia, engaging in their playful antics and nurturing their growth."

“I also find comfort in writing, not just for my brand or articles, but also in personal journaling where I capture my thoughts, dreams, and aspirations. I’m reflective, often contemplating my journey from a life of adventure to the profound experience of fatherhood.”

What or Who Inspired You to Start Creating Content? 

"The journey into content creation was largely inspired by my own experiences and the desire to share them with others," Joseph explains.

He mentions that the inspiration behind building a platform can also be attributed to the many lifestyle advantages, allowing for a flexible work pace and more time to care for his family.

While the long-term inspiration was fueled by an alternative lifestyle, his experience in production, and a passion for storytelling, Joseph’s family is another source of inspiration that contributes to the overall success of The Dad Diaries.

He tells us, “My husband Frank and our daughters, Stella and Mia, have been a constant source of inspiration. Their love and the everyday moments we share motivated me to create content that reflects our family’s journey, offering a glimpse into our lives and hopefully resonating with others in similar situations.”

“Ultimately, it was a combination of personal experiences, the love for my family, and the supportive community that inspired me to start creating content and continue doing so with passion and authenticity.”

Tell Us More About the Transition to Content Creation 

“The transition to content creation was both a natural progression and a significant shift from my previous career as a director and producer. In many ways, the skills I developed in storytelling, visual composition, and audience engagement as a director and producer laid a solid foundation for creating compelling content.”

Joseph also explains that, although he has some advantages in the creative aspect, content creation is significantly different from the large-scale projects he’d normally work on.

From engaging with members of the community to maintaining authenticity, and learning some of the technical aspects, Joseph still faced a significant learning curve when transitioning into a different full-time profession.

What Does The Creative Process Like? 

“When it comes to creating family content, the process is very organic and unscripted. Most of the moments I capture with my family, especially with Stella and Mia, happen in real-time and are spontaneous.”

“The authenticity of these moments is what resonates most with our audience, and it’s important to me that our content reflects the genuine dynamics of our family life.”

“Our day-to-day life is filled with activities, adventures, and sometimes even the mundane routines that make up family life. I always have my camera ready to capture these moments as they unfold naturally.”

“Yes, for sponsored content, the process is more structured. These pieces go through a rigorous approval process to ensure they align with both our family’s values and the brand's message.”

What’s the Highest of Highs You Wish to Achieve?

“I want to continue sharing our family's story in a way that resonates with others, offering support, inspiration, and a sense of belonging to those who might be going through similar experiences.”

“I aspire to create a body of work that my daughters can look back on with pride. I want them to see the love, joy, and authenticity in our shared moments and understand the importance of being true to oneself. Creating a lasting legacy that they can cherish and learn from is incredibly important to me.”

“Another of my key goals is to promote and normalize diverse family structures. I want to use my platform to highlight the beauty and legitimacy of families formed through surrogacy, adoption, and other non-traditional means.

What’s Next for The Dad Diaries? 

Building on the success of "The Twin Diaries: Stella and Mia Meet Papa," I want to write more books that reflect our experiences and the values we hold dear. These could include more children's books, my memoir “From Jetsetter to Fatherhood,” which is set to come out soon, or even guides on parenting and surrogacy.

I also envision expanding into other forms of media, such as podcasts, documentaries, or web series, to tell our story and the stories of others in even more dynamic ways. These projects could provide deeper insights and broader perspectives on the themes we explore in our content.

What Would You Do Differently If You Were To Start Over?

"If I were to start my content creation journey all over again, there are several things I would do differently to streamline the process, enhance the quality of my content, and maximize impact."

“Good cameras, lighting, and editing software can make a significant difference in the production value of content. This would help attract and retain a larger audience from the start.”

“This includes a cohesive visual style, tone of voice, and overall aesthetic that aligns with my message and values. Consistent branding helps build recognition and trust with the audience.”

“When it comes to sponsored content, I would be selective about partnerships from the beginning. Ensuring that any brand collaborations align with my values and resonate with my audience is crucial for maintaining authenticity and trust.”
