From musical sensation to a multifaceted creative with a knack for making relatable life situations a skit, today we sit down with Paul Loduca to learn more about his career as one of the prominent names in the Canadian Comedy scene.
Who Is The Paul That We Don’t Know on Social Media?

"Everything I post is pretty genuine to who I am, my sense of humor, and my values," he says.
Authenticity is the key to his connection with followers, as the content Paul creates follows no trends, challenges, or remakes of other comedian’s ideas."
Paul also shares that before content creation, he was part of the Canadian rock band Neverest, which gave him unique insights into what to expect from an artistic career.
He stresses that social media is an open window into his life, sharing everything from comedic preferences to the best moments with friends and loved ones.
From Music to Comedy – How Did You Bridge These Worlds?
He says, “I was familiar with the lifestyle, the business aspect, and the band itself was basically a group of comedians. So everything was transferred over from there once the band came to a stop around 2015.”
"When it was time to move on, I just jumped right into acting and producing and taking advantage of social media platforms."
"It's a very small world in the acting and music world. Everybody knows everybody. And it's amazing how the relationships you build end up helping you in ways you never thought they would in the first place."
"That's why it's so important to make genuine connections with people. This business is all about networking and fostering relationships.”
Was It Difficult To Reach Where You Are Today?

"Of course, it's very difficult," Paul admits while emphasizing the importance of creating content that resonates personally.”
"When you learn how to not care what people think, it actually makes it easier," he advises. Paul’s content creation approach is centered around producing content that resonates personally, and will in return capture the interests of a broader audience.
He says, “It's difficult because you're constantly trying to get a public reaction, but also trying to make it worthwhile from a financial standpoint.”
Paul explains that the monetary return on content creation is similar to that of the music industry, with viral success being easy to achieve, yet no financial compensation to match the impact.
Is Content Easier To Monetize than Music?
"Good question. Yes, it's much easier to monetize content because musicians are often underpaid, earning just a fraction of a penny per stream," Paul explains.
He adds, "Content generally yields better pay-per-view rates. In music, you need at least a billion streams for the pay to become somewhat sustainable.”
“However, many creators still don't take this seriously. Those who have made it big can earn up $10,000 every two weeks from brand deals, and even those with smaller audiences could make a decent living if they understood more about the business side.”
What Inspires The Creation Of Your Next Video?
Paul’s creative process is as dynamic as his career path. Whether it's sketch comedy, voice acting, or stand-up, he explains that his approach is about tapping into the genuine and often absurd moments of life.
"I grew up loving that stuff, like Mad TV, Saturday Night Live, and my work is highly influenced by the relatability of old-time comedy.”
"I also write a lot about the amusing incidents that occur in my daily life, things that I find truly hilarious.”
Additionally, my fiancée also has a significant influence on my choice of comedy; she and I also run our own comedy page called PauLyssa Comedy, where we share relatable couple moments.”
“I'm fortunate because she's naturally funny and authentic in her delivery, which makes the making of every collaborative project a blast.”
What Advice Would You Give to Aspiring Creators?

Stay True To Yourself
Paul's advice to newcomers in the entertainment field is heartfelt and grounded in his own experiences.
"Stay true to yourself and the kind of content that you really want to create," he suggests, stressing the importance of authenticity over following trends.
He elaborates, "It's crucial to embrace vulnerability. Being honest with yourself can lead to profound personal breakthroughs.”
“Once you achieve this level of self-awareness, you effectively overcome the greatest challenge you face: your own self-imposed barriers. We frequently obstruct our own progress without even realizing it."
What Do Brand Deals Look Like For You?
Paul explains that there are endless collaborative opportunities for creators looking to venture into comedy and make people laugh.
He tells us, “It really just boils down to who I want to work with.” He elaborates on his selective approach to collaborations, "I won't just agree to any partnership, but I find it generally manageable because humor is something that resonates universally.”
“Whether it's an advertisement for a shaver or shampoo, these are products everyone uses. He adds, "I could incorporate almost any product or service into a comedy skit; it just depends on whether it's something I’d personally use."
Giving a real-life example, Paul tells us, "It's essential to carefully select opportunities that align with your values and where you feel you can add a genuine human touch. For instance, if a brand wants you to promote dental floss, it's important to think about how to make that relatable and engaging if you decide to take on the promotional challenge."
What Makes an Effective Influencer Campaign?
Creative Freedom
"As part of Paul's connections and network in the entertainment industry, he collaborates with various brands to facilitate effective promotions and has gained significant knowledge about paid advertising through these experiences."
He tells us, "Many brands impose strict restrictions on what a creator should and shouldn't do when promoting their product, which I believe detracts from the sincerity of it all.
"However, the brands that truly understand their influence give creators the space to work freely. They allow us to present the product in a positive light. As long as that is happening, the creator knows they are shining a positive light.”
Paul suggests that brands are essentially paying creators to build awareness, and the most effective way to do this is by granting them the creative freedom they need.
