Role: Travel Features Writer
Deliverables: Dozens of keyword-optimized long-form articles (900–1,200 words)
Overview:As a recurring contributor to WorldAtlas.com, I authored over 200 travel articles spotlighting towns and destinations across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Articles were crafted to rank for high-intent search queries such as “best towns for retirement,” “off-the-grid destinations,” and “weekend trips near [X],” driving both engagement and organic traffic growth.

Technical Approach:
Conducted in-depth SEO research to structure articles according to search intent (listicle, informational, evergreen)
Used Surfer SEO and Google Trends to optimize keyword density and incorporate supporting terms
Blended historical context, local business recommendations, and scenic highlights to maintain reader engagement
Created custom metadata, alt text, and H2 structures to optimize content for Google Discover and featured snippets
Ensured content was mobile-friendly and scannable to reduce bounce rates and increase dwell time
Result:Many articles ranked on page one for high-intent travel queries within days of publication and consistently reached millions of readers. With an average of 80,000 readers per article, and some exceeding millions I significantly scaled WorldAtlas’s organic traffic and reinforced its authority in the travel space.
